OpenITG, alpha 8 (August 29th, 2008)
------------------------------------

There haven't been many changes this time around, but the changes this
time around are fairly major, so hopefully everyone will still be happy
with it. Essentially, this build should prove to be completely arcade
capable, and serves as a precursor to the first beta.

With this release are specialised SSE2 builds, to take advantage of some
processor optimizations on Pentium 4s and later. If OpenITG crashes with
an "Illegal instruction" error, try running the regular build instead.

As of this build, we've perfected the I/O drivers for ITGIO and PIUIO.
ITGIO's input and output are both tested and fully working. PIUIO's
kernel-hack handler works perfectly, and the driver can switch handlers
if the module exists. If you like code at all, check it out - it's
pretty sexy stuff.

Speaking of testing, if you're interested in helping with the
development of the beta installer, please send us a message at the usual
places. We need any kind of official ITG machines running on the
proprietary hardware, and will be testing utility sets and installation
routines to make the process a bit easier.
